For whatever reason, Google maps seems to have some problems finding a route to Puerto Penasco, Mexico from Phoenix. I assure you, there is a road.
Google also seems to think the house is about half a kilometer in the ocean… it is not, its about 20 meters inland from the ocean.
So, you have to be smarter from the machines. You have to plot two maps, one from Phoenix, AZ to Lukeville, AZ and a second map from the International Border, Sonoita, Sonora, México to Villa del Ensueno Section 10 Lot 1, 83550 Puerto Peñasco, Sonora, Mexico.
Maps are included below, but basically, head south till you reach the border, then head South-South-West till you reach the Gulf of California. The only “tricky” part is going through the city of Sonoita (sometimes spelled Sonoyta) where there is a weird turn in the road. Mostly its a straight shot, and the signage for Puerto Penasco is pretty good. Just keep alert, drive slow. Their stop signs are also smaller than US ones so watch for that (they also put ALTO on theirs instead of STOP, what’s up with that?) They also use the metric system so when the speed limit says 40, that’s kph or about 25 mph.
Clicking on the maps below loads Google Maps with turn by turn directions.
